Leica M, Canon AE-1, Nikon FM and FE, Pentax K1000, Olympus OM, Minolta SR. Some are fully mechanical and will outlive us. Some need a battery only for the meter.
Every film body is shutter-tested at every speed, the meter is checked against a known source, and light seals are renewed where they have gone sticky. If we could not get a camera right, it does not go out.
If this is your first, we will put a Pentax K1000 or a Nikon FM in your hands, load it, and walk you through it at the counter. It takes ten minutes and it is free. Come in on a weekday afternoon when the shop is quiet.
