“I brought in a Canon 5D Mark III with dust I could not shift myself. Nikos cleaned it properly — wet method — and issued a dust spot check sheet with the result photographed on a grey card at f/16. That level of documentation from an independent shop is unusual. I've been bringing my bodies here ever since, and I've recommended Dimitris to everyone in my department at the university.”
“I bought a pre-owned Sony A7III from the shop last spring. The condition card said 'Grade A, approximately 28,000 shutter actuations, one faint mark on the base plate, sensor clean, all functions verified.' Every word of that was accurate. The camera arrived in exactly the state described. I've ordered film and accessories online since and the turnaround is always two days within Thessaloniki.”
“Dimitris sold me a Leica M6 with a grade B description that included 'brassing at the vulcanite edges, one small ding on the top plate near the rewind knob, shutter curtains inspected and smooth, meter accurate.' I read that and bought it immediately — that's the most honest condition description I've seen on any pre-owned camera listing anywhere, including the major European used camera dealers. The camera is exactly as described. It's my daily carry.”
“I started developing my own film after a two-hour conversation with Dimitris about Ilford chemistry and the Noritsu scans. He walked me through the whole process — timing, temperature, agitation, what can go wrong. I now develop black and white in-house and send the rolls I'm less patient with to the lab. The C-41 scans are genuinely good: sharp, neutral, properly exposed. Not an afterthought like some labs.”
“I've been working with press credentials for twelve years and I've had gear serviced in London, Paris, and Athens. The sensor cleaning Nikos does here is as good as anything I've had done at a manufacturer service centre — and he turns it around the same day. The shop also keeps a stock of common accessories (cable releases, battery grips, filters) that are hard to find in Thessaloniki without waiting for a delivery. I come in every two to three months.”
